From Baby to Toddler: The Highs, the Lows, and Everything In Between

From Baby to Toddler: The Highs, the Lows, and Everything In Between

From Baby to Toddler: The Highs, the Lows, and Everything In BetweeOh, the toddler years - where baby giggles become belly laughs, wobbling turns to walking (and running!), and sleep becomes...well - changeable… but hopefully you’ll start getting more of it! If you’re navigating the shift from baby to toddler, we know you may be rather tired and sometimes overwhelmed. We hope you are experiencing a beautiful, if somewhat bumpy ride! We have all been through this stage here at Rosa & Blue, and we love to look back at photos and laugh at the memories!

Those First Steps (Literally)

One day, your baby is curled up like a sleepy kitten in your arms - and the next, they’re trying to scale the sofa. Transitioning to toddlerhood comes with a flurry of milestones: teeth, tantrums, new foods (and wild reactions to them), and that ever-changing sleep pattern. Just when you thought you’d cracked the bedtime code, they decide 4am is the perfect hour for a solo cot party.

And yes, it might be time to think about shoes - real ones! Tiny toes need support once those steps turn into sprints, so it's worth visiting a proper fitter and opting for soft, flexible soles to support their growing feet.

Food Glorious (Messy) Food

We can’t talk toddlerhood without mentioning weaning. Introducing new foods is such a fun (and often hilarious) part of this stage. From squishy avocado smears to joyful blueberry-stained grins, the mess is real and we hope this doesn’t stress you out too much! Try to embrace it. Some days they’ll love broccoli, the next they’ll throw it on the floor in protest. It’s all part of the adventure.

Toddler Choices (Yes, Even at 18 Months)

One of the most entertaining (and occasionally frustrating) parts of toddlerhood? The opinions. Suddenly, your toddler has thoughts about what they wear. Pyjamas become sacred (they only want the bamboo-soft ones with the animals - luckily Rosa & Blue have that covered!), rompers become favourites, and you might find yourself negotiating over socks. Deep breaths...we know it can be frustrating! But try to think of this independence as a beautiful thing - even when it slows down the morning routine.

Tip: give them a couple of outfit options to choose from. It gives them a sense of control while keeping things manageable for you.

And if they refuse to wear clothes?! Well maybe see if they’ll throw on a Rosa and Blue poncho for when the neighbour knocks on the door at least!

The Toddler Mood Board: Joy, Chaos, and Cuddles

Let’s be honest: this phase can be unpredictable. One moment they’re cuddling you like a koala, the next they’re crying because you peeled their banana the “wrong” way. But through every high and low, you’re doing an amazing job. You’ve got this!
