Why Bamboo?

beautifully soft
GENTLE ON SKIN

Bamboo is incredibly soft making it the perfect choice for young babies and children, especially those with delicate and sensitive skin

Bamboo is moisture-wicking and three times more absorbent than cotton

Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic and has antibacterial properties which means better odour control

Bamboo produces 35% more oxygen and absorbs four times more carbon than other trees and plants

Our aim was to design a fabric that is gentle, soft and safe for babies and children. Rosa & Blue sleepwear is crafted from the perfect blend of 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton which is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and GOTS certified.

Thanks to bamboo our sleepwear has a whole host of benefits, such as being naturally hypoallergenic; the perfect choice for delicate newborn and sensitive skin. Bamboo has antibacterial properties and a clever ability to wick-away moisture, for better odour control. Fewer smells means less frequent washing; a huge plus in a busy household with little ones to keep fresh and clean at night. Bamboo washes well at lower, more environmentally friendly temperatures which means our sleepwear keeps its integrity for longer. Plus, it dries much faster than other fabrics and has wrinkle resisting properties.

WHY DO WE BLEND BAMBOO WITH ORGANIC COTTON?

Cotton helps to stabilise and strengthen bamboo fabric for durability, better washing, reduced shrinkage and longevity.

Sustainability
KIND TO THE PLANET

Sustainability was at the top of our list when designing our signature fabric. Bamboo is a conscious plant to grow as it doesn't require polluting pesticides or fertiliser. It produces 35% more oxygen and absorbs 4 x more carbon than other trees and plants.

It was a top priority for us to find a factory close to home that shares and follows the same philosophies as us. Our wonderful team in Portugal prioritises caring for the environment alongside providing fair and safe working conditions.

CARE INFORMATION

Rosa & Blue sleepwear has been carefully crafted to last. Our aim is that you’ll reuse and pass on these timeless pieces, so they can be loved and enjoyed for many years to come. We recommend that you follow our care advice to keep your sleepwear in beautiful condition.

A Note on Pilling

You may find that your sleepwear develops slight pilling/ bobbling, but rest assured this is a normal feature of bamboo fabric that doesn’t affect the signature softness or durability. In fact bobbling can occur due to the longer yarns and wider weaves in bamboo, which are used to increase stability and longevity.

YOU CAN REDUCE PILLING BY FOLLOWING THE BELOW ADVICE:

Turn sleepwear inside out before washing to reduce the friction against the outside of the fabric

Air or line drying will also minimise the amount of friction that the garment is subjected to

Lighter loads and shorter wash cycles. Limit your wash load to delicate fabrics that have room to spin

Iron your sleepwear using a low temperature

Use a bobble/ lint remover
